Ironward Vessel Handmade Ritual Talisman
This one-of-a-kind vessel was created as a working piece centered on protection, resilience, and the ability to remain yourself through life's changes.
Handmade using a black glass vessel, aged copper, smoked leather, wool, snake vertebrae, natural stone beads, and an iron nail, every element was chosen for both its physical presence and the story it tells.
At one end hangs an iron nail, long associated with warding, boundaries, and protection. At the other rests a sealed black steel vessel, hand-finished with aged copper and smoked leather. Together they create a balance between guarding what is outside and preserving what is within. The snake vertebrae form the spine of the piece, connecting each element and reinforcing the idea of strength, structure, and continuity.
At the heart of this vessel rests a piece of vivianite wrapped in wool and sealed beneath copper and leather. Vivianite is a rare mineral often discovered in places where time has left its mark. It forms in the presence of organic material and is known for its remarkable transformation. What begins pale and quiet gradually deepens into rich shades of blue and green through exposure and change.
For that reason, I have always seen vivianite as a stone of hidden strength. It speaks of what survives. What endures. What is transformed rather than destroyed.
Within this vessel, vivianite serves as a reminder that protection is not always a wall...sometimes protection is the ability to weather change without losing yourself. A vessel is meant to hold something. For some, that may be a prayer. For others, a written intention, a fragment of shed snake skin, herbs, ashes, soil from a meaningful place, or a token connected to a loved one or important memory. The vivianite forms the heart of this piece, but the vessel itself leaves room for your own story to become part of it
The combination of copper, leather, wool, stone, bone, and iron creates a layered piece that feels both ancient and enduring. Together, these materials speak to craftsmanship, resilience, and the quiet power found in objects made with care.
Wrapped in wool, sealed by hand, and carried within the vessel, vivianite forms the heart of this piece.
The iron nail says, keep harm out... The vivianite says, remain yourself through what comes.
May this vessel accompany you on that journey. :)
